There is always fine line between disco that is goofy and tough as nails, and no other group walks that tightrope better than NY's premier disco band, Cosmic Force.  Made up of members from El Michels Affair, Bronx River Parkway, and The Expressions, Cosmic Force delivers the pinnacle of what hard-hitting, no-bullshit disco can be.  With their third release to date, Cosmic Force outdoes themselves with the West Indies inspired disco of Ghetto Down and Trinidad Bump. 

Ghetto Down is a five minute odyssey complete with all the standard characteristics of a classic disco track. Wah-wah guitar, congas, drums breaks, hand claps, relentless horns, and moog keyboard all work together to create the ultimate disco record.  Trinidad Bump, which has been mixed by dance music aficionado, Dimitri From Paris, is more of the same but with a melancholy overtone that permeates the music.  Side Two features two versions of Ghetto Down remixed by the godfather of dance music, Kenny Dope, one of the two masterminds behind Masters At Work.  Featuring a long and short edit, Kenny Dope has translated Cosmic Force's classic disco aesthetic into modern club music which can be enjoyed by the masses.
